Pretty tasty, I thought, picking chocolate chips out of my teeth as the family said its last goodbyes. Thirty minutes in the freezer resuscitated the sandwich. With one of the ER residents covering for me, I slipped back in, ghostlike, to save the ice cream sandwich in front of the corpse of the son I could not. Then I remembered: my Diet Coke, my ice cream sandwich … and the sweltering heat of the trauma bay. I slipped out of the trauma bay just as the family was brought in to view the body. ![]() ![]() ![]() Once the story broke, ACS held an emergency assembly. For Nietzsche, they are mere constructs, constructs that can be altered and even broken. In Nietzsche’s acclaimed work, Beyond Good and Evil, he sets out to challenge contemporary thinkers of his time with arguments questioning the very foundation of our collective perception. What is good ? What is evil ? How do we qualify morality? What are ethics? What are values? This frame of reference, so to speak, is what helps shape our belief systems and constructs the context which we then ascribe to ourselves. The mind is a reaffirming construct that takes in new information and evaluates that data according to its past experiences, trying to find the perfect place to fit each new idea or experience into a tightly knit box. For, there is no real but the real which we decide for ourselves, ultimately, influenced by our environment. What we choose to believe as real is what we merely accept as being real. Life is a perception of your own reality. ![]() ![]() At the center of this conflict is an ongoing struggle between North and South Korea for the mantle of Korean legitimacy, a "brother’s war," which continues to fuel tensions on the Korean peninsula and the region.ĭrawing from newly available diplomatic archives in China, South Korea, and the former Soviet Union, Jager analyzes top-level military strategy. Let us know!Ĭarrie Vaughn’s BANNERLESS duology + novella is more mystery than romance (although the heroine’s strong love for her (living) husband is omnipresent), but it has incredible worldbuilding and an acceptance of differences (explicit in the novella). Sarah: There’s Nora Robert’s Year One, ( A | BN | K | G | AB ) which is more magic/fantasy dystopia.Įlyse: Trigger warning: that series contains sexual violence. Content warning because it read to me at the time like a mashup of The Road and The Handmaid’s Tale.
